Worldwide coronavirus death toll passes 3 million and 817 thousand

Capitals, SANA-The novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 3 million and 817 thousand people worldwide since its outbreak in December 2019 according to the latest statistics by the American Worldometers website, which tracks the latest developments of the virus worldwide.

The website added that the total number of the coronavirus infections worldwide has reached up to 176,649,066 worldwide, while the deaths have amounted to 3,817,832, and the recoveries have amounted to 160,672,245.

The US is still on top of the worst-hit countries by the virus in terms of the number of infections and deaths after recording 615,056 fatalities, out of 34,320,559 infections, while India comes in the second place with 374,226 deaths out of 29,506,328 infections.

Meanwhile, Brazil comes in the third place with 487,401 fatalities out of 17,412,766 infections.
