Muscat, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faysal Mikdad, said that his official visit to Oman aims to boost relations between the two brotherly countries, affirming that Oman has stood by Syria and the Syrian people.
“We are fighting terrorism and extremism, and we are working against unilateral coercive measures.. brothers in Oman have been standing by the Syrian people from the beginning of this war on terror until this moment.” Mikdad said in a press statement.
He added that brothers in Oman had a distinguished stance at all international forums towards what happened in Syria, and they stood against terrorism and with the unity of the land and the people of Syria, so the Omani stance was respected and appreciated by all Syrians.
Minister Mikdad added “we see that the Omani stance is an example to be followed, and there is now support for it by many countries that have been hostile to Syria, because it has been proven to them that the suffering of the Syrians does not serve any of them and that it increases the pain and the problems of the region.”
Mikdad expressed Syria’s appreciation for the stances of Oman and the positions of late Sultan Qaboos and Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said who is following the same approach, stressing that Oman has provided assistance to Syria to overcome the difficulties it has encountered by Western countries that want to starve the Syrian people and force them to accept hegemony.
Mikdad pointed out that talks with all officials in Oman are encouraging and positive, hoping the role of Oman, during the next stage, would be an active role in helping Syria overcome the crisis and establish security and stability over its all lands.
