Damascus countryside, SANA-Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and the Armed Forces, Defense Minister Fahd Jassem al-Freij said the Syrian army is capable of realizing the aspirations of the Syrian people in uprooting terrorist organizations wherever they are on the Syrian soil.
The defense minister’s comments came during a field visit he paid to military units and checkpoints in Damascus countryside during which he inspected the preparedness of soldiers and the circumstances of their work.
He conveyed to the army’s personnel the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad, expressing the military leadership’s pride in the army’s sacrifices for protecting the homeland.
The minister hailed the high morale that characterizes the Syrian army and its heroic deeds in the battle against foreign-backed terrorism, listening to an account by the soldiers on the measures and procedures taken by the units and military checkpoints against potential terrorist attacks.
