Beirut, SANA – Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with head of the Lebanese Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) Asaad Hardan situation in the region, especially in Lebanon and Syria.
Bogdanov gave during the meeting a thorough review of the Russian efforts to produce effective solutions to crises gripping the entire region, particularly the crisis in Syria.
He said Russian initiative on Syria is based on the Russian firm position that the solution for the crisis in Syria can be reached through political means and a Syrian-Syrian dialogue.
The Russian official stressed that countering terrorism should be the mission of all countries as it endangers the entire world.
In a relevant context, Bogdanov met with Lebanese MP Suleiman Franjieh, with the talks during the meeting touching on Russia’s efforts to establish communications with all Syrian sides as to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria, adding that these communications are held primarily with the legal government and the patriotic opposition in Syria.
