Tehran, SANA- Senior Assistant to Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji discussed on Wednesday with Russian President’s Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev developments of situation in Syria.
Khaji stressed the importance of cooperation between Iran and Russia, particularly in finding a solution to crisis in Syria, pointing out to the role of Astana process in the solution and affirming that the support of his country to the work of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution without external interference is a principled stance for Iran.
Lavrentiev, for his part, criticized the obstacles put by some countries in front of the return the displaced Syrians to their homeland which is considered a humanitarian issue.
Lavrentiev stressed the positive achievements of the Iranian -Russian cooperation within the framework of Astana process about Syria.
