Jabbarov: Russia will continue to support Syria in military, humanitarian domains

Moscow, SANA-Russian First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Vladimir Jabbarov has asserted that Russia will continue to support Syria despite the so-called “Caesar Act”, expressing conviction that the US sanctions are “futile and useless” and will achieve nothing.

Jabbarov stressed in a statement to “Interfax” Agency that the US sanctions policy is wrong and will negatively affect relations between the United States and its allies.

He reaffirmed that Russia will continue to support Syria in the humanitarian and military domains and in combating terrorism.

Jabbarov noted that the US is not the UN Security Council whose sanctions are obligatory to implement by all countries, pointing out that what the Americans are doing is futile and useless and will achieve nothing.

Earlier on the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the US unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria and the so-called “Caesar Act”.
