Terrorists’ shells injure child in Damascus countryside, cause material loss to main power plant in Hama

Provinces, SANA, Terrorists launched attacks with rocket and mortar shells targeting the main power plant that supplies the central region in Hama Province and a residential area in Damascus Countryside where a child got wounded in the assault.

Terrorists targeted Wednesday evening Mhardeh power plant in Hama with four rocket shells, causing severe damage and leaving huge material loss.

A source at Hama Police Command told SANA that the first shell landed in the area where fuel tanks, causing damage to Tank no. 5, whereas the second shell hit the control devices and machinery site, leaving extensive material damage in the place.

Terrorists’ third shell landed in the converter station resulting in considerable material losses, while the fourth rocket shell slammed into a diesel oil tank burning it, the source said, adding that some 1,350,000 cubic liters of diesel were wasted due to the combustion.

The high temperature resulting from the combustion made a close tank burst and a fire trunk catch on fire, according to the source.

Mhardeh power plant has been repeatedly attacked by terrorists being the most prominent power generator in the central area, as it is considered a main target for terrorists in Hama.

On the other hand, a child got injured when terrorists fired mortar shells on the residential Camp of al-Wafideen in Damascus Countryside.

A source at police command told SANA that terrorists targeted al-Majd Suburb in al-Wafideen Camp to the northeast of Damascus with three mortar shells, causing an injury to a child in addition to leaving material damage in the place.
