International Trade Union Forum: Launching global campaign to break economic siege on Syria

Damascus, SANA – Participants in the 3rd International Trade Union Forum decided to launch a global campaign to break the economic campaign imposed on Syria using all possible means and revealing the truth about the states that are involved in the aggression on Syria.

In a statement at the conclusion of the Forum on Monday, the participants stressed the need for expanding cooperation among all states to fight terrorism, affirming their countries’ support with Syria in confronting the policies of hostile forces.

The participants denounced the inhumane exploitation of the issue of Syrian refugees, denouncing certain governments’ attempts to hinder the return of displaced Syrians to their homeland, and calling for holding those who violate the displaced people’s rights accountable.

They also denounced the hostile practices of Qasad (SDF) militias under the support of the US and Israeli enemy and in collusion with Erdogan’s regime, saying that the so-called “safe zone” is a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty, calling for the closure of all US and Turkish military bases in Syrian territory, the withdrawal of illegitimate foreign forces, and stopping the US coalition’s airstrikes on safe areas in Syria.

The participants concluded by calling for establishing a committee to follow up on implementing the recommendations and decisions of the Forum and expanding the circle of Syria’s friends in international and regional forums.
