People’s Assembly passes bill on establishing banking courts

Damascus, SANA – The People’s Assembly passed a bill on establishing banking courts of first instance and appeals in all provinces for taking up banking lawsuits.

During the Assembly session on Monday, Justice Minister Najm Hamad al-Ahmad said that this step was necessary as establishing such courts was a recurring request, noting that it will help resolve banking lawsuits and disputes quickly and prevent them from dragging out.

The Assembly also passed a bill on regulating the work of legal translators.

Al-Ahmad said the bill in question is vital due to the vital nature of legal translators’ work when it comes to judicial procedures involving documents or reports and correspondences in a foreign language.
