Syria, WHO discuss mutual cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz underscored keenness on bolstering mutual cooperation between the ministry and the World Health Organisation (WHO) in a way that improves students’ health and contributes to their healthy lifestyles.

The minister’s comments came during his meeting with WHO resident representative in Syria Elizabeth Hoff.

He pointed to the direct and indirect losses sustained by the educational sector under the current crisis in Syria and the ministry’s measures to meet the needs of school community, chief among them is healthcare.

The minister hoped Syria’s cooperation with FAO will be further enhanced and its prospects boosted in the future.

Hoff, for her part, signaled the organization’s desire to bolster cooperation with WHO and readiness to offer all possible help to health projects.
