Damascus, SANA-A new national vaccination campaign for polio is due to be launched on Sunday targeting children under five years old regardless of their previous vaccinations.
The campaign is launched by the Health Ministry and will last till October 11.
The Ministry announced that it adopted all technical and logistic measures to guarantee the success of the campaign.
About 2.97 million children are targeted by this campaign in all provinces via health centers, mobile teams, makeshift centers and kindergartens.
A media official at the Health Ministry, Samer Fateh, told SANA that the campaign will be carried out through health centers and 1,500 mobile teams with about 9,500 health workers.
In turn, Dr. Imad Jamil of Damascus Health Directorate said that the continued vaccination campaigns are designed to immunize all children against polio.
The first national campaign this year was launched in March.
