Syria, DPRK discuss cooperation in housing sector, culture

Damascus, SANA – Housing and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Ghazal on Wednesday discussed with Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Syria, Jang Myong Ho, means of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in the field of housing.

The two sides discussed ways to benefit from the Korean experience in this field and the contribution of DPRK companies in constructing economic housing units that are compatible with energy-saving criteria.

Ambassador Myong Ho stressed that the stances of his county towards Syria are firm, hoping the crisis in it will end soon.

Meanwhile, Culture Minister Issam Khalil discussed with ambassador Jang Myong Ho means of improving cultural relations to match the level of bilateral cooperation and coordination.

The minister hailed the deep historic relations between Syria and the DPRK, stressing the necessity of upgrading the work mechanisms related to the cultural aspects of cooperation, a need made more urgent by the fact that both countries are facing common challenges in the projects that the US administrations seek to implement.

Minister Khalil lauded the stances of the DPRK on the war being waged against Syria and the military successes of the Syrian army, underscoring the importance of building deeper cultural relations with Korea.

“Terrorism can be countered by thought that dislodges the Takfiri through which poses a threat to humanity at large,” he added.

The Korean ambassador, for his part, emphasized his country’s support for Syria, expressing trust in the ability of the Syrian people to get over the current crisis.
