Raja al-Karad wins bronze medal at World Military Wrestling Championship

Moscow, SANA – Syrian wrestler Raja al-Karad won a bronze medal for the 125 kg category at the World Military Wrestling Championship currently being held in Moscow.

Head of Wrestling Federation, Ahmed Jomaa, told SANA that al-Karad is one of the best wrestlers in Syria, especially since the category he competes in has him facing world champions.

The Syrian team participating in the tournament consists of 12 athletes, and six of them will compete in the Greco-Roman wrestling events, and this Championship help prepare the wrestlers for the Mediterranean tournament which will be held in Spain next month, he added.
