Provinces, SANA – Syrian Arab Army units on Monday continued military operations against Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist groups affiliated to it in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside, in parallel with continuing to secure the safe corridor for the evacuation of civilians from Ghouta.
SANA’s reporter to Ghouta said that after regaining control over al-Nashabiye town and a number of villages and farms, army units started new operations against the positions of Jabhat al-Nusra and affiliated terrorist groups, as the army achieved significant advances in eradicating terrorists in the area.
The reporter added that terrorist organizations are in a state of disarray and collapse due to the huge advances of the army and the huge losses in personnel and equipment they suffered.
The reporter indicated that army units operating at the northern front of the Ghouta have tightened the noose on Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists who are positioned in some parts of Harasta city, inflicting heavy losses upon them in the arms and personnel.
Meanwhile, the terrorist groups positioned in Eastern Ghouta are still preventing the civilians to exit through the safe corridor to al-Wafideen Camp. The army and the authorities have made all logistic preparations to receive the civilians who want to exit Ghouta to transport them to a temporary housing center in al-Dwair.
On Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army regained control over the town of al-Nashabiye and the villages and farms of Otaya, Hosh al-Salihiye, Hosh Kharabo, Haarma, Beit Nayem, and al-Ebb farms, in addition to the Air Defense Battalion, and the Transport Regiment.
Army thwarts terrorist attacks on military points in Lattakia and Hama countryside
Army units thwarted attacks by terrorist groups on a number of military points in northeastern countryside of Lattakia and northwestern countryside of Hama.
A military source told SANA that army units clashed with terrorist groups of Jabhat al-Nusra, al-Hizb al-Tourkistani and Ansar al-Isalm battalion which tried to infiltrate and attack a number of military points in Shir al-Sihab , al-Bahsa and Agriculture Project area in northeastern countryside of Lattakia and northwestern countryside of Hama.
The source added that the clashes ended up with foiling the infiltration attacks after eliminating large numbers of the terrorists, destroying their various weapons and three machineguns-equipped vehicles.
