Ryabkov: Accusation of Russia and Syria with the use of chemical weapons groundless

Moscow, SANA – Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stressed that accusations of Russia and Syria with the use of chemical weapons are groundless and they lack evidence.

Ryabkov was quoted by Novosti news agency as saying “the outpour of unsubstantiated accusations continues on the background of relentless relapses of chemical terrorism in the Middle East at the connivance from the West and overt provocations on the part of militants by using toxic agents” which continue to take place against the backdrop of “Washington’s unwillingness to fulfill at least its own obligations to destroy the US chemical stockpiles.”

Commenting on Paris meeting of the so-called International Partnership Against Impunity for the Use of Chemical Weapons, Ryabkov called the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) parties to show political will and wisdom and not to be affected by those who want to discredit the Syrian government.
