New York, SANA- Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reaffirmed the necessity of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
During a meeting in New York on Thursday, the two sides discussed the thorniest issues on the international agenda, including the situation in Syria and on the Korean Peninsula, with stress laid on that there is no alternative to peaceful settlement of current crises, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov and Guterres reiterated their adherence to the implementation of the of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program.
