Tehran, Moscow underline importance of cooperation for settling Syrian crisis

Tehran, SANA- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Ali Khamenei has underlined the importance of cooperation between Iran and Russia for resolving the Syrian crisis.

Meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tehran on Wednesday, Khamenei said “The defeat of the US coalition which supports terrorists in Syria is a fact that can’t be denied, yet they are busy planning and preparing conspiracies, therefore; settling the crisis in Syria entails continuing close cooperation.”

He clarified that the Syrian people are the only ones who can take the final decision regarding issues related to Syria.

“All solutions should come out from inside Syria, and pressure mustn’t be put on the Syrian Government to implement any project as the proposals and projects should be as comprehensive as possible,” he added.

He noted that the Syrian, Iranian and Russian resistance in face of the Takfiri terrorists which are backed by several foreign countries bears significant outcomes, adding “Solidarity and joint resistance in the face of terrorists’ sedition and corruption in Syria bears a lot of meanings.”

For his part, Putin said “We believe that any change or progress in any country including Syria should be performed from the inside,” describing stances of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran with regard to achieving joint goals as “wise and effective.”

He added that the US interferes in all the international and regional issues and it ignores the interests of its allies if necessary.
