Damascus, SANA- Syrian – The Syrian-Russian Businessmen Forum was held on Saturday in Sheraton Hotel in Damascus , discussing means of enhancing cooperation between Syria and Russia in the fields of economy, commerce, and investment.
The Syrian and Russian businessmen and companies’ representatives participating in the Forum affirmed that the Forum and the meetings held as part of Damascus International Fair represent a big and important opportunity to develop the economic situation and commercial exchange between the two sides, in addition to learning about the investment projects in Syria, particularly in reconstruction and building.
Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil said that the government is exerting efforts to create solid economic conditions and strengthen the friendship and cooperation with friendly countries, mainly Russia, stressing the important role of the businessmen in both countries to link the ties and bring them to advanced stages.
He added that there are important investment opportunities in Syria which form an attractive factor for the businessmen and foreign companies’ representatives.
For his part, commercial attaché at the Russian Embassy in Damascus Igor Matveyev noted that the Russian delegation participating in Damascus International Fair represent the biggest, best, and most advanced companies in Russia.
Matveyev called for seizing the opportunity to develop economic, commercial, and industrial relations between the two countries and informing Russian businessmen about Syrian products.
