Damascus, SANA – The Education Ministry on Sunday morning released the results of the high school certificate exams for the scientific, literary, Sharia, and vocational branches for the 2016-2017 school year.
In a press conference at the Ministry, Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz said that 56,199 out of 101,200 students who submitted the exam for the scientific branch have passed at a percentage of 55.53%, while 29,207 out of 65,977 literary branch students have passed at a percentage of 44.27%.
He added that the passing percentage for Sharia is 68.85%, as 1072 out of 1557 students passed the exam, noting that the passing percentages for the vocational branches are as follows: 64.47 % for women’s arts branch, 65.03 % for industrial branch and 45.63% for commercial branch.
The minister said that two students got the perfect score (2900) in the scientific branch.
