Damascus, SANA-The People’s Assembly, chaired by its Speaker Hadiyeh Abbas, discussed during a session held on Thursday the performance of Interior Ministry and issues related to its work.
Answering MPs’ inquires, Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar affirmed that the ministry has many tasks to do in the upcoming period, most importantly is to combat terrorism and crime with all their forms and strengthen the factors of steadfastness of the Syrian people in all areas.
He added that the Ministry has a priority to meet the needs of the citizens and preserve their properties, their honor and dignity.
The minister pointed out that the ministry exerts huge efforts to carrying out its duties and deal with all the difficulties of the crisis and the terrorist war waged against Syria.
Earlier, the Assembly discussed a draft law on amending the article No. 37 of the weapons and ammunition law which was issued according to the legislative decree No. 51 for the year 2001.
The article is related to amending the fees imposed on the weapons and ammunition licenses.
