Defense Minister visits army units in Hama northern countryside

Damascus, SANA-Upon the directive of President Bashar al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the army and armed forces, Minister of Defense Fahd Jasem al-Freij paid Monday a field visit to a number of the army units working in Hama northern countryside, inspecting their combatant readiness.

During the tour, Major General Freij, also deputy-Commander-in-Chief of the army, listened to a detailed explanation by field commanders about the nature of the combatant process in the northern countryside of Hama, and the duties carried out by the army forces.

Meeting the soldiers in their positions, Defense Minister affirmed that Syria, under the leadership of President al-Assad, will defeat terrorism, appreciating the high moral spirit our armed forces enjoy and the heroism they record while combating terrorists.

He called on the army officers and soldiers for more awareness, stressing that Syrian leadership and people highly appreciate the national duty they perform against terrorists.

For their parts, the army officers and soldiers pledged they will spare no efforts and will offer sacrifices to rescue the Homeland from the plague of terrorism.
