Education Ministry, international organizations discuss reality of educational process

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Education in the caretaker government, Nazir al-Qadiri, discussed Monday with representatives of a number of international organizations the mechanism for developing a plan to assess the needs of schools in all provinces, and rehabilitate the destroyed and damaged ones.

During the meeting, which was held at the ministry building in Damascus, the attendees focused on the necessity of assessing the reality of schools in Syria in general, and determining the ministry’s vision for the next stage in the field of reconstruction and the efforts required to improve the educational reality.

 

Minister al-Qadiri said that the number of damaged schools in Syria is approximately 10,000 schools, and it is necessary to determine their needs to rehabilitate them, rebuild the destroyed ones, and return them to work.

He underlined the necessity of unifying efforts between the ministry and these organizations to improve the reality of the educational process, and discussing the mechanism for future support for educational cadres, students, and schools.
