Syria, Turkey discuss ways of cooperating to preserve Damascus’ archaeological monuments

Damascus, SANA- Damascus Governor, Maher Marwan discussed with the president of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Serkan Kayalar, prospects for cooperation to preserve the archaeological landmarks in Damascus, as a common human heritage that reflects the depth of historical and cultural ties between Syria and Turkey.

The two sides stressed the need to enhance cooperation in the development fields, restoration and maintenance of archaeological sites, in a way that ensures the preservation of cultural and civilizational identity.

Governor Maher stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, in a way that serves common interests, with a focus on cultural aspects that constitute a bridge for communication between peoples.
