Damascus, SANA-The Minister of Water Resources in the caretaker government, Eng. Osama Abu Zeid, discussed with a delegation of representatives of the Relief Int’l organization, means to enhance cooperation and support the water sector by discussing the current needs in the financial resources sector and the necessity of securing them in a way that positively reflects on the reality of drinking water and its delivery to all citizens.
Minister Abu Zeid stressed during the meeting held at the ministry building in Damascus that securing drinking water is a humanitarian need, and all efforts must be combined to secure it in high quantity and quality, noting that the ministry’s cadres have started to conduct an assessment of the needs in this sector to be the basis for cooperation with all international organizations.
In turn, the director of the organization, Gonzalo, said that cooperation with the ministry will include all areas that contribute to improving the drinking water supply service and raising its quality, whether in the field of renewable energy or water transportation, providing sterilization materials, laboratory needs, awareness, and rationalizing water consumption, in addition to securing the necessary maintenance needs for equipment.
