Pope Francis: Solution to crisis in Syria is political

Rome, SANA-Pope Francis called on the international community to unify the efforts in order to reach a political solution to the crisis in Syria, affirming that there is no solution to this crisis except through dialogue and away from military solutions.

“The whole world should understand that there is no military solution to the crisis in Syria except by the political solution,” the Pope said on Tuesday in a message via video in the framework of a campaign led by Caritas organization under the motto “Syria… the peace is possible.”

He added the international community should support negotiations to resolve the crisis, saying “Let us unify our efforts on all levels to achieve peace in Syria.”

Pope Francis also called for respecting the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria.
