Syrian-Iraqi talks on activating scientific and research cooperation programs

Damascus, SANA- Syria and Iraq discussed on Wednesday means of activating scientific and research cooperation programs between the two countries.

That was during a meeting between Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister in the caretaker government, Dr. Abdel Moneim Abdel Hafez, and Chargé d’Affairs of Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, Ambassador Jubeir Shalal Akab.

‏During the meeting, Minister Abdel Hafez underscored the importance of exerting joint efforts to reactivate and bolster scientific cooperation relations as a part of cultural exchange agreements between both sides.

He stressed the ministry’s readiness to address and follow up on pending files regarding conditions of students and professors in the universities of both countries.

In turn, Ambassador Akab also underlined the necessity of boosting cooperation between the two sides in field of higher education and scientific research, in addition to exchanging scientific expertise at the university level.
