Damascus, SANA- Under the title (Investment in Renewable Energies and Electricity, the Engine of Sustainable Development in Syria), the activities of the 2nd Investment Conference in the Electricity Sector kicked off on Wednesday at Damascus University Auditorium, in the presence of Minister of Electricity, Eng. Ghassan al-Zamel, and Minister of Industry, Dr. Abdul Qadir Jokhdar.
The two-day conference, which will be attended by representatives of sectors working in the field of renewable energies, will focus on the available sources of renewable energies in Syria, investment opportunities for renewable energies projects, private sector participation in the field of electricity generation, experiences of some international and regional organizations in the field of renewable energy, and successful experiences implemented by private sector companies.
The conference discusses the financing means for renewable energy projects, the means and facilities approved for lending by the Central Bank, the tax benefits granted for investment in this field, the facilities provided for importing renewable energy equipment, and contracting ways in accordance with the partnership law.
