Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Russian Aviadillo company sign memo of understanding

Aleppo, SANA- Within activities of the Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow up the work of the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced who were forced by the terrorist crimes to leave the country, a memorandum of understanding was signed today at Aleppo International Airport between the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) and the Russian Transport and Logistics Company “Aviadillo”.

Director of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Eng. Bassem Mansour told SANA reporter in Aleppo that the goal of the memorandum is to activate the flights between Syria and the Russian Federation as the flights are being currently run by the Syrian Airlines and Cham Wings Airlines between Damascus and Moscow and through this memo, flights will be activated between Aleppo and Krasnodar in the Russian Federation.

Mansour added that this will contribute to the flow of air traffic, goods and passengers, and will reflect positively on economic and industrial activities.

For his part, Walid Abu Shahla, Director General of the Russian Transport and Logistics Company Aviadillo said that activating the movement of transport and airlines between the Russian Federation and Syria is an important step to enhance cooperation in the fields of air freight and to increase and activate trade exchange to feed the Russian and Syrian markets with goods and shorten the time in passenger and freight movement.

“In cooperation with the Ministry of Transport in Syria, an action plan was drawn up to restore air traffic and open airlines between the Russian Federation and Syria,” said Artyom Petit, Director of Foreign Relations at Aviadillo.

He expressed hope that all airlines between the two countries would be reopened in the near future.

Later a delegation from Aviadillo company inspected the reality of air transport at Aleppo International Airport and visited the arrival and departure halls of passengers and cargo shipment and the extent of the airport’s readiness to transport passengers and air freight.
