Damascus, SANA- Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS) Adeb Mayaleh said on Tuesday The Bank raised the amount of financing import licenses from $ 100.000 to $ 150.000 for each importer.
“The CBS is committed to sell 100 million USD for the purpose of funding imports,”, Mayaleh said at meeting held with the participation of representatives of money-exchange to discuss the market developments and the price of the Syrian pound against foreign currencies.
He affirmed CBS will concentrate on keeping the price of the Syrian pound against foreign currency stable through supporting production and raising the export capacity of the Syrian economy.
Mayaleh called for punishing those who manipulate with the price of the Syrian pound, warning against some websites which circulate illusive prices.
