OPCW ready to receive samples from Russia about chemical materials used by terrorists in Aleppo

The Hague, SANA-Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) announced on Tuesday it is ready to receive from Russia samples of chemical materials used by terrorist organizations in Syria.

Russian Defense Ministry Spokesperson, General Igor Konashenkov said Monday that the Ministry’s experts have stressed that terrorists used chlorine and phosphorus materials, after analyzing 9 samples taken from 1070 apartments area in Aleppo, that included parts of shells and the soil in the places where rocket shells landed, adding that 4 extra samples were taken from Syrians affected by the chemical materials used by terrorists.

TASS news agency quoted OPCW as saying in a statement that it has received a proposal from Russian authorities to offer samples and other materials related to their usage as a suggested weapon in Aleppo.

“Those samples and other materials could be beneficial for the international organization to resume its work in the fact-finding process,” OPCW statement added.
