Geneva, SANA- UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura hoped an immediate agreement between Russia and US on the crisis in Syria would be reached soon.

De Mistura, at a press conference on Thursday, pointed out that discussions between the Russian and US sides in Geneva continue on high military, security and diplomatic levels, adding the discussions may continue to Friday or Saturday.

He went on to say that the UN hopes the discussions would be faster to follow-up the understanding which was reached in Moscow between the Russian side and the US Secretary of State John Kerry to boost the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria.

De Mistura affirmed that G20 Summit in China will witness talks on the crisis in Syria, adding that there are a lot of indicators that lead to the presence of a political initiative before the meeting of the UN General Assembly and that could be on September 21st.
