Larijani re-elected as Iranian parliament speaker

Tehran, SANA – Iranian parliamentarians re-elected Ali Larijani on Tuesday as the new speaker of Iran’s Shura Council with 237 in favor out of 276 votes against Mostafa Kavakebian who got 11 votes.

Earlier Sunday, Larijani was elected as temporary parliament speaker with 173 votes against Mohammad Reza Aref, who secured only 103 votes in favor at the opening session of the tenth term of the parliament.
