Damascus, SANA – Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi stressed that martyr Mustafa Badreddine and all the martyrs of the resistance and the Syrian Arab army and Syria’s friends had firmly defended Syria and its right.
The senior Hezbollah military commander was announced dead by Hezbollah on Friday. According to investigation conducted by the resistance movement, the explosion that led to the martyrdom of Badreddine near Damascus was caused by terrorist groups’ artillery shelling.
Speaking during a ceremony held on Saturday to accept condolences on the martyrdom of commander Badreddine at the al-Muhsaniyeh School in Damascus, Minister al-Zoubi reiterated that Syria will remain a united Arab land, and that no scheme in the world, under any title, can lead to dividing it.
He affirmed that “all of those who have believed in Syria and stood by it are actually on the side of justice, as we have never attacked anyone or committed killings, beheadings or rape against anyone, but the others have done all of that.”
Al-Zoubi saluted the soul of martyr Badreddine and extended greetings to his family, the national resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah Party and its Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
For his part, Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun said “Syria, its people and leadership will not forget Badreddine and will not forget his honesty and steadfastness.”
Chairman of the Political Council of Lebanese Hezbollah Party, Ibrahim Amin al-Sayyed, delivered a speech on behalf of Nasrallah and of the leadership of Hezbollah in which he expressed great appreciation for Syria, considering that the martyrdom of Commander Badreddine is a “sign of victory”.
