ICDO voices readiness to provide humanitarian support in Syria

Moscow, SANA – International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) Secretary-General Vladimir Kuvshinov said on Monday that the ICDO is prepared to provide humanitarian support in Syria, with the assistance of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) and other sides.

In a statement to journalists in Moscow, Kuvshinov said the Geneva-based organization will be able to contribute to humanitarian efforts in Syria, and it will do so when it receives relevant suggestions from donor states.

The ICDO is an intergovernmental organization whose objective is to contribute to the development of structures ensuring the protection and assistance of population and safeguarding property and the environment from natural or man-made disasters.
