Damascus, SANA – Head of the Higher Judicial Committee for Elections Hisham al-Shaar affirmed preparedness for holding the upcoming elections of the People’s Assembly as the logistic procedures have been completed in the provinces all across the country.
During his meeting Saturday with members of the sub-committees for the parliamentary elections, al-Shaar clarified that the Higher Judicial Committee will be in a direct contact with the sub-committees of all provinces throughout the electoral process and in a state of complete alert on the day of election for handling any emergency cases.
The Decree No. 63 for 2016 set Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 as the date for electing members of the People’s Assembly for the second legislative term.
