Information Minister: Progress in political track requires consensus on list of terror organizations

Damascus, SANA – Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that progress in the political track requires reaching a consensus on the list of terrorist organizations, asserting that the only solution for the crisis in Syria is the inter-Syrian solution produced by national dialogue, and there can be no solution imposed from foreign sides.

In an interview given to the Syrian TV on Saturday, al-Zoubi said that the so-called “opposition” are the last to have the right to talk about the humanitarian situation, because the Syrian government has given in aid amounts exceeds by several times what the UN has offered, adding that part of the aid provided by the government is some areas was looted by terrorist organizations that sold it for ten times its value.

The Minister said that the Turkish and Saudi regimes are “losing their cards in the region” which will prompt them to commit political follies by seeking to raise their demands to achieve a political victory and cover up their deficiencies regarding their internal crises.

He also said that the scale of hopes riding on Geneva 3 is linked to the Syrians’ experience in Geneva 2, and that those who caused Geneva 2 to fail are seeking to do the same to Geneva 3.

Al-Zoubi concluded by saying that the Syrians see that the Syrian Arab Army represents them on the ground, and that the majority of Syrians believe that the opposition abroad doesn’t represent the Syrian people and their aspirations.
