Putin vows to punish plane terrorist attack culprits, stresses military work in Syria must be strengthened

Moscow, SANA- The Russian plane crash in Sinai last month was caused by a terrorist attack as traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage of the plane, the Russian Federal Security Service Director Aleksandr Bortnikov said.

Bortnikov, during a security meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, added that after analyzing passengers’ belongings as well as the parts of the plane by experts, explosive substances were found which proves that the plane fell apart in the air over Sinai after the detonation of a homemade bomb.

For his part, President Putin said that the incident is one of the bloodiest acts in Russia’s history, affirming that Moscow will search for the terrorists who blew up the plane wherever they are in the world and will punish them.

Putin added that this not the first time Russia has faced such “barbarous terrorist crimes, more often without apparent causes, outside or domestic,” vowing to find and punish the culprits behind the Sinai plane attack wherever they are.

President Putin ordered the Russian intelligence to search for those responsible for blowing up the plane.

He added that “those who attempt to assist criminals should be aware that the consequences of such attempts will be entirely their responsibility.”

“Our military work in Syria must not only continue. It must be strengthened in such a way so that the terrorists will understand that retribution is inevitable,” Putin reiterated.

For his part, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev declared that all the required measures have been taken to enhance the security in all the places of the public gatherings.

Kolokoltsev indicated that the security apparatus are ready for any complications that would result from the terrorist threats and they have the experience in this domain.

Kremlin : Putin, Hollande agree to coordinate in their operations against terrorist organizations in Syria

In this regard, President Putin and his French counterpart Francois Hollande “agreed in particular to ensure closer contacts nand coordination of activity between the military agencies and security services of the two countries in operations against terrorist structures carried out by Russia and France in Syria,”  the Kremlin press service reported.

“In a telephone conversation, the two leaders “put special attention to expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation against international terrorism” following the crash of a Russian airliner in a bomb blast over Sinai and the Friday chain of terrorist attacks in France,” the Kremlin press service said.

The Kremlin announced that Putin and Hollande will meet in Moscow on November 26th to coordinate action in the fight against terrorism.

Peskov: Syrians alone determine their leadership

Dmitry Peskov, Spokesman for the Russian Presidency stressed that Russia’s stance concerning President Bashar al-Assad is firm as no side, except for the Syrians, can determine who to lead the country.

RT quoted Peskov as saying that some countries are approaching this issues via their private interests and schemes.
