Syria’s journalists express solidarity with al-Mayadeen TV

Damascus, SANA- Syria’s journalists held a stand in front of the building of the Journalists’ Union in Abu Rummaneh in Damascus on Monday in solidarity with al-Mayadeen TV which witnesses many pressures including the decision by Arabsat administration to stop its broadcasting.

Chairman of the Syrian Journalists Union Elias Murad confirmed in a statement during the stand that the resisting media will remain steadfast against suppression procedures practiced by some parties to suppress freedoms and silence the other opinion, noting that the resisting media will work to bring down all the arbitrary measures practiced by the supportive parties of criminality and terrorism.

The Syrian media faced with will, determination and bearing of national responsibilities in confronting campaigns of lies, disinformation and Takfiri thoughts fought the owners of alleged freedoms who were upset by al-Maiydeen Channel which since its start was supportive of the resistance and rights of peoples and dealt with events with credibility and professionality, Murad added.

Murad considered the declared war is a media war, stressing that the voice of resistance will remain the highest voice.

Dr. Fayez Sayegh , member of the People’s Assembly said that solidarity with al-Maiydeen TV is a moral duty , adding that Arabsat is one of the tools used by Saudi Arabia as a part of media terrorism that hostile media, thought and opinion freedom , noting that the Syrian National media channels were targeted before.

Saudi authorities, represented by Arabsat blocked al-Maiydeen TV Channel within the framework of policies used by the Saud regime which seeks to silence the media that uncover their practices and aggressive approach.
