Peskov: Russia will go ahead in offering support to Syrian army

Moscow, SANA-Spokesperson of the Russian Presidency Dmitry Peskov affirmed on Wednesday his country’s continued support to the military operations carried out by the Syrian army, regretting Washington’s rejection to receive a Russian delegation to discuss the situation in Syria.

“US rejection to receive a Russian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, which was heading for Washington to discuss Syria, wouldn’t contribute to making the combat against the Islamic State (ISIS) a success,” Peskov said in a statement to reporters.

He commented on Washington’s move by saying “any rejection of dialogue, particularly during the current sensitive situation in Syria, wouldn’t help rescue this country and the region from ISIS.”

Peskove added that President Vladimir Putin has taken the decision to send the Russian delegation; in a move which asserts that Russia proposes a high level delegation to discuss such important thing.
