Egyptian and Tunisian presidents call for finding political solution for crisis in Syria

Cairo, SANA- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi emphasized the need to work for reaching a political settlement in Syria that preserves its unity.

In a joint press conference in Cairo on Sunday, the Egyptian President said that he agreed with his Tunisian counterpart on the necessity to find a political settlement in Syria and to enhance cooperation between the two countries at all levels to overcome challenges facing both countries.

El-Sisi stressed the importance of supporting the region’s countries affected by terrorist acts and preserving their institutions to enable them to play their role towards their peoples.

The two presidents discussed a number of regional and international issues, particularly combating terrorism, warning of the effects of spreading extremism and terrorism in the region.

In turn, the Tunisian President hailed the victories of October Liberation War, adding that these victories returned the dignity for Arab armies and people.
