PRESS RELEASE
28th July 2015

Latest print edition of the Holy Quran improves visual clarity of Quranic script

The Ministry of Religious Endowments announces the release of the latest print edition of the Holy Quran.

All print editions of the Holy Quran, including this latest edition, are precise representations of the original copy of the Holy Quran made by the venerable Caliph Uthman Ibn ‘Affan.

This latest print edition, which was updated by the Ministry of Religious Endowments’ Permanent Committee of Quranic Affairs, improves the legibility of the Quranic script, in particular, the positioning of the diacritics (dots), the size and the vowelizations of certain letters, with the aim of maximizing the clarity of the script for the ordinary reader.

Previously, the Permanent Committee of the Holy Quran Affairs had discovered that the scripts of a number of different print editions were difficult to read and causing confusion for non-specialized readers. Therefore the primary purpose of the updated print edition was to make the Quranic script as clear and easy to read as possible for beginners and experts alike.

The Ministry of Religious Endowments is in the process of sending copies of the latest print edition to all Muslim countries.
