Damascus, SANA – The Information Ministry on Monday organized a seminar on terminology and concepts in mass media, attended by Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi, and a number of media establishments’ management staff members and journalists.
During the seminar, Hassoun warned against certain terms and concepts that some sides launch to create division and strife and are spread by mass media, either intentionally or unintentionally, stressing that Syria is facing such an issue which requires that journalists and religious figures take steps to face this threat.
The Mufti said that the spiritual and intellectual bases of the Syrian people allowed them to weather four years of this “war of terminology” which made the world curious to know how they managed to withstand the crisis and remain united.
