China condemns Israeli attacks on Gaza and calls for ceasefire

Beijing, SANA- China has affirmed its condemnation and strong opposition to all Israeli practices against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip which violate the basic norms of international relations.

Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the need to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible to calm the situation down, according to Xinhua.

Wang’s remarks came during a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud regarding the recent developments in Palestine.

Wang said that China opposes and condemns all actions that harm civilians because they violate the basic norms of international relations.

The Chinese diplomat stressed that China is conducting extensive contacts with all parties to push for a ceasefire and that the urgent task is to ensure the safety of civilians and open humanitarian corridors to deliver aid as soon as possible and protect the basic needs of the people of Gaza.

Wang added that China is ready to work with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries to continue to support the just cause of the Palestinians which is represented in restoring their national rights and putting the Palestinian cause back on the right track.
