Syrian- Iranian talks to boost bilateral relations

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous met on Wednesday with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for following up on the implementation of the agreements and understandings reached during the recent visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to Syria and his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields in a way to achieve mutual interest of the two countries and the two friendly peoples.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed several joint projects in the domains of finance, banking, energy, oil derivatives, communications, industry and tourism, and the steps taken to facilitate joint work and overcome difficulties in front of it, strengthen the role of the business sector, increase bilateral trade exchange and increase growth rates in the field for the mutual benefit of economic of two countries.

Prime Minister pointed out that the difficulties confronted the Syrian economy due to unjust siege and control of the occupation and its affiliated militias over the national oil and agricultural resources on the Syrian al-Jazeera, and government measures to operate various sectors, increase production and meet the needs of the Syrian people.

Arnous expressed his appreciation to Iranian leadership, government and people for the support provided to Syria in various fields.

Iranian Foreign Minister, in his turn, stressed that his country seeks to expand domains of joint cooperation in the context of the long-term cooperation document signed between both sides and the necessity of exerting all joint efforts to implement of bilateral agreements, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy and the use of national currencies in commercial transactions and barter of goods.
