Damascus, (SANA) President Bashar al-Assad received a congratulatory cable from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on occasion of winning a new presidential term, stressing that holding the elections successfully embodies the will of the resistant Syrian people and their keenness on consolidating their presence in the political arena and determining their future.
President Rouhani considered that results of the elections reflected confidence of the Syrian people in President al-Assad and his determination to go ahead towards stability, security and the national accord.
He expressed conviction that Syria, with the wisdom of President al-Assad, is going on the road of peace, stability and national unity, and it will overcome the crisis imposed on it peacefully, as it also will continue through more popular participation to walk on the path of national agreement and building its economy.
The Iranian President stressed that this prominent event is a promising step on the way of the people’ sovereignty, wishing security, development and more advance to the friendly and brotherly people of Syria.
