Al-Jaafari, Crossley discuss WFP work in Syria, plans for the year ahead

Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Bashar al-Jaafari discussed Sunday with Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Syria, Kenneth Crossley work of the WPP in the country and its future plans for the upcoming year.

Al-Jaafari affirmed Syria’s keenness to provide full support to the work of the WFP and other organizations in order to carry out the tasks assigned to them successfully.

Al-Jaafari underlined the need to implement the UNSC resolution no. 2642 on the transition to the stage of early recovery in Syria and cross-line delivery of humanitarian aid in the country.

He pointed out the negative impact of the Turkish regime’s manipulation of the water issue on food and human security in Syria, as well as the impact of the theft of the Syrian wealth by the American occupation on the Syrian people.

For his part, Crossley presented his view on the work of the WFP in Syria over the next stage, referring to the success of Sarmada 7 convoy, which started a few days ago, in transporting humanitarian aid across the lines ,in implantation of the resolution no. 2642.
