Moscow, SANA- Ukraine’s military lost over 1,200 personnel in the past day upon its attempt to launch an offensive in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog and other areas on order by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky,accoring to the Russian Defense Mnistry.
“In the past 24 hours, in their effective operations the Russian forces eliminated 48 tanks, 46 infantry fighting vehicles, 37 other combat armored vehicles, 8 pickup vehicles with large-caliber machine-guns and over 1,200 Ukrainian servicemen,” the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a press briefing Tuesday
In repelling the enemy’s advance, the Russian forces routed the units of the Ukrainian army’s 128th separate mountain assault brigade redeployed from western Ukraine to participate in the offensive, Konashenkov said.
“The strikes with ground-based precision weapons targeted, in the village of Alexandrovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a temporary deployment point, ammunition depot for the 1st Tank Brigade of the Ukrainian forces, with more than 200 soldiers were eliminated, including about 40 foreign mercenaries”, the general reported.
He added that more than 20 armored vehicles and a large number of artillery shells were destroyed.
