Sokhumi, SANA- President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, met today with Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, in the capital city, Sokhumi.
President Bzhania expressed happiness over the visit he paid to Syria last year, sending an invitation to President Bashar al-Assad to visit Abkhazia as soon as possible, affirming his country’s keenness on building a strategic and economic partnership with Syria.
The President said “The relations between Syria and Abkhazia will be more and more enhanced over time and there are preparations within the framework of the joint committee to sign six agreements and a memo of cooperation in the domains of culture, agriculture, education, trade and sports”.
In turn, Mikdad described as ” deep and friendly ” the relations linking the two counties, referring that they did not begin only with the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two states, but rather they are well –established throughout history.
Mikdad said that all countries that want liberation, away from western hegemony, have supported the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
