Higher Supreme Judicial Committee for elections accepts 57354 application and refuses 10824 others

Damascus, SANA- Head of the Supreme Judicial Committee for elections, Judge Jihad Murad, announced that the committee has finalized processing all the candidates’ applications in all provinces, with the accepted ones to compete at the elections scheduled to be on Sep 18th.

The committee has approved 57354 candidatures presented to compete for the elections, while 10824 more have been refused, according to Murad.

He noted to the significant increase in the number of applicants for this year’s elections, by 25000 from the year 2018.

Judge Murad added that there were candidatures presented by all political parties registered in Syria, the issue that indicates the increasing democratic awareness among Syrians.
