Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova considered that the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan showed the United States’ disregard for the rights of other countries.
“The US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns understands that by provoking the United States he is once again disregarding the rights of other states,” wrote Zakharova on Telegram.
She noted that American diplomats in China were unable to speak out of fear of public anger.
Zakharova added that “the Americans should not talk about respect for international law after Washington violated its obligations towards Beijing.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed in a statement yesterday that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan constitutes “a blatant provocation that comes in the context of the US aggressive approach against China.”
